Teacher Grants
Phi Chapter has instituted several grants which benefit in-service educators and early-career educators. To make it easier for you to apply for funds to help your educational goals or classroom projects, the explanations have been made available below. If you teach in the Northwest Education Services region, your principal was emailed the grant to disburse to staff. If you prefer, you can reach out directly to dkggta@gmail.com to get an application.
Each May a member of Phi Chapter randomly draws a school district within North Ed making that district's educators eligible to apply for the grant. Application forms are delivered to the chosen district and distributed to the staff. The grant is for non-consumable materials or for the educator use to attend a workshop or class.
Applications are sent through the inter-school mail to North Ed school districts and available by email. Three classroom teachers receive a grant for a conference, in-service, a continuing education class or classroom materials. A fourth grant is given to an early-career classroom teacher with five years or less teaching experience for classroom materials.
Beginning in the fall 2024 cycle, one grant will honor 53-year Phi member Wilma Lemcool who passed away in January 2024.
Application is submitted by a DKG member for an activity/event they are involved in/or have a connection to that supports teachers and/or students.
Past grants include:
--Dennos Museum Center
--The Botanic Garden at the Historic Barns Park
--Constitutional Convention
--Crooked Tree Center TC Annual Youth Art Show
Annual Auction
Held the second Tuesday of October, our annual auction is becoming a go-to event for local buyers looking for quality items. All funds raised are used for grants in aid for classroom teachers, member projects and classes in the field of education.

Every April, the fall grant recipients are asked to join our meeting and share about their grant project and its impact on students. In April 2025, six recipients were able to attend to tell about their successful projects.
